We are pleased to announce that PLG has been engaged to provide initial risk advisory services on the LIGTT (Louisiana International Gulf Transfer Terminal) project off the coast of New Orleans. This $1.3 Billion, 250 acre project will be the first new port in the U.S. to handle the large Post-Panamax cargo ships that will flow out of the newly expanded Panama Canal (in 2015). It will incorporate state-of-the-art technologies in logistics, security, tracking and automated cargo handling. LIGTT is designed to be the center of a hub-and-spoke system that will serve as the logistical gateway to America’s heartland.
LIGTT construction is expected to start in June 2013 and be completed by May 2017.
We look forward to working with the LIGTT development team on this breakthrough project.
